PTL - Parent / Teacher League
Everyone! Every parent or guardian, every teacher, and anyone who has an interest in our school and wants to be involved is a member of ESM’s PTL. Yes, this means you!
The PTL exists to serve ESM by supporting its mission, programs, and activities. We can only do this through a strong partnership between the school, the teachers, and the parents. Whether you’re volunteering for one event, sending in supplies when asked, or getting involved on an ongoing basis, you’re making a difference in the lives of our students and teachers and hopefully making connections with other families along the way.
The PTL organizes, coordinates, and funds several events every year, including but not limited to:
Eagles in Motion - our walk/jog-a-thon and our only fundraiser each year
The Fall Carnival - an evening for families to gather in fellowship and fun
Grandparent’s Day - a day welcoming grandparents to campus for special activities
Spirit Wear sales - a chance for families to show their school spirit
Skating Parties - sponsored free of charge twice a year for a night of family fun
Jingle Bell Boutique - our school Christmas shop where students can purchase quality gifts for the families
- Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week - a week filled with goodies and appreciation for our teachers and staff
- One School / One Book - we purchase the selected book for each family every year and families work through a reading plan together
- Special projects - requests from the school that we partially or fully fund
- Staff Favorite Things - we keep a list of staff favorite things to help families know each staff member’s favorite drink, snack, classroom wishlist, etc. Find the Staff Favorite Things folder here: Staff Favorite Things
- Many others that vary from year to year
Our main fundraiser is Eagles in Motion, held every fall. The students collect pledges from families and friends and then spend a portion of their day walking/jogging/running around our school tracks to raise money for the PTL. It’s our way of involving the kids and encouraging healthy habits all at the same time! The most recent Eagles in Motion walk/jog-a-thon brought in over $40,000! This funding helps the PTL support many projects and activities at ESM such as purchasing furniture, technology, and security upgrades in addition to supporting Grandparents Day, parent-teacher conference meals, family events, One School-One Book, Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week, and special requests.
Many heads are better than one, so we want your thoughts and ideas! Tried something at a different school or experienced an event somewhere else? Tell us about it! Saw a great idea online and think it could work? Let us know! You can reach out to any of the PTL Officers (see below) or send us an email at ptl@esmeagles.com. You are also encouraged to attend our monthly PTL meetings (see the schedule below or find them in the school calendar). We alternate between morning and evening meetings to try and work around busy schedules. The minutes from our meetings will be linked in our newsletter which is linked in the Eagle Eye Newsletter from the school.
The best and easiest way to get involved is to volunteer to be a part of a PTL sponsored activity. You can volunteer once or many times, but getting involved will help you meet other parents, learn more about our school, and discover your place within our school community. Volunteering is a great way for you to use your talents and abilities to help your child's school, teacher, or classroom and to glorify God. There are many volunteer opportunities through PTL which are highlighted every year at our PTL table at Registration in August. If you missed the opportunity to sign up then, it’s not too late! Contact us at ptl@esmeagles.com to let us know how you’d like to help and be on the lookout for additional emails of help needed for events throughout the year. We’re always looking for motivated people who want to lead a team or coordinate an entire event. No matter how you help, we need your time, your talents, and your heart! When parents are involved, our children thrive, spiritually, emotionally, and academically.

PTL Meetings
This year’s meetings will take place at our Getz Rd. campus. We try to keep them to an hour at most and often have projects to work on while we’re meeting to prepare for upcoming events. Most meetings will be held in Luther Hall, just inside Door 1. Hope to see you there!
