Greetings Emmanuel - St. Michael Lutheran School, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, and St. Michael Lutheran Church!
It is with great joy that the Interparish School Board of Emmanuel - St. Michael Lutheran School announces that Dr. Benjamin Stellwagen has accepted the divine Call to serve as Principal at ESM.
In every way God has guided and directed this process. Thank you to our entire school and church community for lifting Ben and his family in prayer and for your continued support of our school ministry. Dr. Stellwagen shares that 'The call process has affirmed that the Lord has led me to this community to work alongside the many faithful, committed, caring, and talented people at ESM for the good of His kingdom. God be praised!'
We look forward to sharing more with you from Dr. Stellwagen in the days and weeks ahead. Now we pause and give thanks to God for His gracious work.

Greetings Emmanuel - St. Michael Lutheran School, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, and St. Michael Lutheran Church!
It is with great joy that the Interparish School Board of Emmanuel - St. Michael Lutheran School announces that a divine Call to serve as Principal has been extended to Dr. Benjamin Stellwagen. Ben currently serves as the Director of Dual Credit Programs and Director of School Partnerships at Concordia University, Nebraska (2018-current). Prior to that he served as Principal at Trinity Lutheran High School in Seymour, IN. He and his wife Laurie live in Seward, Nebraska with their 4 children. Ben was born and raised in Hinsdale, IL, where he attended Lutheran schools growing up. He is fully committed to LCMS (Lutheran Church Missouri Synod) doctrine and believes that the church’s mission is ‘to make disciples and make them stronger’. Ben describes himself as having a 'Christ-centered, mission-driven, student-focused attitude' in his approach to Lutheran education.
Now, we turn our focus towards praying for Ben and his family as he considers this Call to serve as Principal at ESM. As we have shared along the way, excellent leadership has been foundational at ESM. We trust that God will continue to provide in the future! We are in the midst of Advent where we wait and prepare. What a fitting time.
May God bless you and your family this Advent season!
