Mrs. Kristen Labahn

Mrs. Kristen Labahn grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and attended Holy Cross Lutheran School, Concordia Lutheran High School, and Concordia University, River Forest (Chicago). Both of her parents were Lutheran educators, so her love of Lutheran schools runs deep! Mrs. Labahn has taught grades 3-7 in Lansing, IL, Rochester, MN, and Ft.Wayne. She has also served in Youth Ministry and Children’s Ministry in Munster, IN and at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She has been teaching at ESM in middle school since 2020 but she is no stranger to the ESM family as her sons Nolan and Nathan graduated from ESM and she was one of our amazing and frequently called upon substitute teachers. She is dedicated, creative, and passionate. Her students are very important to her and the relationships she builds with her students, school families, and colleagues, last for a lifetime. 

Outside of teaching, Mrs. Labahn enjoys spending time with her husband John, sons Nolan and Nathan, and dog, Briar. She loves Jesus, family, friends, chocolate, coffee, music, walks, sports (mostly watching rather than playing these days), reading, northern Wisconsin, and sunshine - and teaching middle schoolers!!
