Mrs. Tara Childs

Mrs. Tara Childs grew up in Indiana and graduated from New Haven High School. She then went on to study journalism and secondary education at Franklin College. After graduating in 2001 and marrying her high school sweetheart, Jason, she taught 8th grade English before she and her husband started their Air Force adventure in 2002. While moving lots (Mississippi, Texas, Arkansas, and Germany!), Tara continued to work with children as a tutor, children’s ministry teacher, Sunday school teacher, and substitute teacher. Her most fulfilling job has been raising their four girls - Alexis, Addison, Chloe, and Isabelle. Jason retired from the military after 21 years and now flies for Delta. Mrs. Child's favorites are eating anything chocolate, watching a beautiful sunset, snuggling up for family movie nights, running on a cool morning, and getting lost in a good book.
 
After traveling the world, the Childs family was thrilled to return to their Hoosier roots where their younger girls now attend ESM. Fort Wayne has become home again and Tara is excited to join her girls at the Union campus this year as the Media Center Director! She believes “Reading puts the world at your fingertips” and can’t wait to see what God does this school year!!
